(inglés: "Trabajadores industriales del mundo) Organización radical de trabajadores fundada en 1905 en Chicago.
Sus fundadores, que se oponían a las políticas moderadas de la AFL (
ver AFL-CIO), fueron William Haywood, de la Federación de mineros del oeste, Daniel De Leon, del Partido laboral socialista,
y Eugene V. Debs. En 1908 la IWW se dividió y prevaleció un grupo militante encabezado por Haywood. Como medio para lograr el control obrero de los medios de producción, abogaba por las huelgas generales, el boicot y el sabotaje. Estas tácticas condujeron a detenciones y a publicidad adversa, aunque le ganaron terreno en las industrias forestal y minera. La organización se opuso a la participación de EE.UU. en la primera guerra mundial y algunos de sus dirigentes terminaron enjuiciados. En la década de 1920 la cantidad de militantes ya había disminuido mucho.
